On June 12, the ceremony of the part-time professor of Xi'an Jiaotong University was held in Room 106 of the School of Chemical Engineering and Technology. Yang Chao, a researcher at the Institute of Process Engineering of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, was hired as a part-time professor. The party and government leaders, teachers and students of SCET attended this ceremony. The ceremony was presided over by Dean Wei Jinjia.
Dean Wei Jinjia first gave a warm welcome to the researcher Yang Chao, and gave a brief introduction to his academic background and achievements. Professor Zhang Zaoxiao, secretary of the Party Committee, presented the appointment letter of the part-time professor of Xi'an Jiaotong University to the researcher Yang Chao. Then, researcher Yang Chao made a short speech. He said that Xi'an Jiaotong University is a traditional famous school. It is a great honor to attend the appointment ceremony of the part-time professor of Xi'an Jiaotong University. He said that the teachers of the SCET have given a lot of help and support to his work in the past few years. He expressed his gratitude here, and sincerely welcomes the further cooperation and exchanges between the School of Chemical Engineering and Technology and the Institute of Chinese Academy of Sciences.
Subsequently, Researcher Yang Chao gave a keynote report entitled “Gas-Liquid Solid Multiphase Reactor Measurement, Numerical Simulation and Industrial Application”. The report provides an in-depth introduction to the development of instruments such as telocentric photogrammetry instruments, heterogeneous characteristics of gas-liquid-solid three-phase reactors, three-phase flow measurement, and mathematical models and numerical simulations. At the end of the report, he presented pertinent guidance and suggestions to young researchers, which were highly praised by the teachers and students in the college.
Prior to this, Academician Zhang Shoujiang, Director of the Institute of Process Engineering of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, was hired as an adjunct professor at our school. This visit of researcher Yang Chao will promote further substantive cooperation and exchanges between the two sides.
