This research center was initiated by northwest institute of chemical engineering, and Hualu engineering technology co., LTD., Shaanxi Weihe coal chemical group co., LTD., and Xi 'an Jiaotong university as co-construction institutions. The center promotes the industrialization of major scientific and technological innovations and scientific research achievements by means of joint efforts of industry, universities and research institutes. The technology research and development focuses on large-scale advanced coal gasification technology, coal chemical industry and C1 chemical synthesis technology. Centering closely on the needs of national economic and social development, the overall planning of Shaanxi’s energy and chemical base construction, and the new problems and demands in the development of coal and chemical industry, the center will be committed to develop advanced coal chemical techniques with independent intellectual property rights, taking the coal chemical industry technology innovation as the starting point and combining research institutes, engineering companies, enterprises, colleges and universities to form a close cooperation community of interests. At the same time, it will provide an open platform for the exchange of production, education and research, and elevates the status of coal chemical technology in Shaanxi province in the country.
