On July 21st, the Chemical Sub-Assembly of Silk Road University Alliance initiated by School of Chemical Engineering and Technology of XJTU was formally established. A total of 35 universities from nearly 10 countries joined the sub-union. In the same period, the first board meeting of the Alliance was successfully held. The dean Wei Jinjia of School of Chemical Engineering and Technology of XJTU was elected as the first chairman. The meeting was presided over by Prof. Chen Xin. He Changzhong, director of the International Exchange and Cooperation Office, attended the meeting and delivered a welcoming speech. He expressed his warm congratulations on the establishment of the Chemical Sub-Assembly of the Silk Road University Alliance, and briefly introduced the development history and current situation of Xi'an and Xi'an Jiaotong University. He hopes that the sub-alliance will play the role of inter-school exchange, talent cultivation, scientific research cooperation and cultural communication in the chemical industry.
The School of Chemical Engineering and Technology of Xi'an Jiaotong University (China), the University of Queensland (Australia) and other universities were selected as the executive directors, and them signed the Silk Road University Alliance Chemical Sub-Agreement Agreement.
In the same time, School of Chemical Engineering and Technology of Xi'an Jiaotong University successfully held the first glamour chemical academic forum, and nine outstanding experts and scholars from well-known universities at home and abroad made wonderful academic reports. They focused on the chemical engineering disciplines, introduced the research fields of the relevant units and the development direction of the disciplines one by one, and expressed their desire to cooperation and exchange each other. They also said that chemical industry is a world-wide national pillar industry, and they will unite together so that the chemical industry can play their role in various fields.
